One of the biggest things with creating HTML pages is deciding on what to use to create the html files.  I know the tendency to use something like Microsoft Word is very appealing but don’t do it.

I help others who create pages in various word processors get those files up on the Internet in the form of html pages.  One thing I have found is that Microsoft sucks at creating webpages.

There is a save function within MS Word that will convert your document over to html without the Word specific tags but it never turns out as expected.

Word seems to keep a hold of a 8.5 x 11 inch document concept.  This is now how webpages work.

Every time I have tried to do a conversion, it never works out and I spend countless hours debugging and reformatting for the Internet.

I strongly recommend that you take the time to learn a real html editor such as Dreamweaver and dump MS Word for you webpage development.

I have a pretty good list of the items that I use along with some good free replacements.

If you are going to do any kind of serious development on the Internet, then I suggest you take the plunge and get Adobe CS4 Webmaster package.  This package rocks!

I am currently working on a new project that is utilizing new web technology and I am starting to use more and more of the Adobe Webmaster tools to get it done.

Long story short…MS Word has it’s place and developing websites is not one of them.
